Kimberly says:
What does the Moderate and Vigorous in your Activity mean? I’m so confused…
Rachel says:
Moderate and Vigorous refer to the intensity of my workout/activity. My GoWear Fit (synonymous with the BodyBugg) can tell when I am busting my ass like running or doing something less intense like walking.
It’s a little Chinese to me, but this is what the site says:
What is a MET? A metabolic equivalent (MET) is a standard means of measuring your physical activity intensity. The system detects your METs levels, awarding moderate and vigorous intensity minutes as you achieve those levels of intensity. We allow you to adjust these thresholds to match your lifestyle and goals.
Here’s a guide to get you started. For example, you can adjust your lower moderate activity threshold to a higher value if you find you easily reach your moderate activity target.
1-3 METs Sedentary activity, like sitting
3-6 METs Moderate activity, like a brisk walk
6+ METs Vigorous activity, like running
Kimberly says:
Ooooohhhhh! I get it now!
Er, well, kinda. At least I’m not as confused as before. Thanks for the explanation.
