There’s an App for That
Posted in My Weight-Loss Journey by RachelBetween catching up on sleep, preparing to move into a new apartment (packing, painting, etc), celebrating the most amazing birthday to date, and keeping up with the first week of my November Gym Schedule, I haven’t had much time to blog. Whoops.
Quick Recap:
- Tried Zumba for the first time this morning. Woke up at 6am after giggling the night away with Cassie. We were 100% convinced that we could hear the gentleman downstairs snoring as we tried to sleep. After putting the ceiling fan on and layering ourselves in hoodies and copious amounts of blankets, we eventually made our way to Slumber Land around 1am. I ended up having a five-hour nightmare involving Jillian Michaels, but I digress.
Zumba seems like a great workout in theory, but it was incredibly hard for me to bust ass and get in a good work-out as a newcomer. However, I somehow manged to break a sweat and burn 400 calories whilst flailing rapidly and jumping around like a deranged poodle. I’d give it another try. Grade: B
- After Zumba, I forced Cassie to join me for a two-mile jog. At 9am. In 34-degree weather. Grade: A+
- Whipped up a delicious 200 calorie breakfast consisting of Egg Beaters (garden veggie) with a pinch of cheddar, a slice of toast, and a juicy slice of turkey after a nice hot shower following our chilly jaunt. Mmm! Grade: A- (Note to self: next time, trade the cheese for +1 toast or +1 turkey).
- Met up with my friend Chris and The Girl at the new apartment for some quality painting time. Two coats of ‘Starburst Wrapper Yellow’ burned five hundred calories! Eight mini powdered donuts screwed my calorie burn in the ass (all 500 calories to be exact)! Didn’t blow my calorie goal, but did I need eight mini donuts? Neva. Grade: D+
- Rocked my workout schedule like whoa. Grade: A
- Picked up a new winterish coat at AJ Wright for $9.99. It just so happens to be a medium (size 8/10), yet I was unable to fit into a 14 jean at Kohl’s. Really?! As if being shaped like an ant isn’t fucked up enough, I’m stuck in some sort of Sizing Limbo? Boo, hiss. Grade: B+
Average Grade: B+

South Beach Steve says:
You were doing so good until the donuts!
The apartment is looking good too.
Kimberly says:
Ah, Zumba. I keep thinking of trying that, but I haven’t had the guts yet. I hate flailing rapidly and jumping around like a deranged poodle in front of other people. I prefer to reserve that for the privacy of my own home.
Finn says:
I barely broke a sweat when I did Zumba
Monica says:
Shaped like an ant? LOL
Kohls is the devi.
Zumba looks ok but I can see how you dont really work up a sweat…Im telling you, try a BOSU class. I triple dog dare you!
