To Do: Live in the Moment

Posted in My Weight-Loss Journey by Rachel

As I continue on my journey ‘full steam ahead’, it has become obvious that I don’t reflect as much as I’d like to. For example, I could write a dissertation on what it means to be wearing size 12 jeans at this very moment. I could write about what that number symbolizes rather than simply crossing that milestone off my ‘to do’ list. I could write about how I completely surrendered to the idea of being destined to live a miserable life trapped inside a body I loathed for the better part of eight years. I could write about how I truly believed that I would never again fit into the world I once knew.

Perhaps it’s time to soak in my surroundings and really start to live this life that I have worked so hard to regain and reflect on the life that I’m leaving behind rather than blindly steamrolling from milestone to milestone.

Or should I say milestone to headstone?

  • I think you should stop and reflect as you won't be stopping and reflecting alone. It's hard letting it all hang out there but I find those are the posts that people want to read.

    • Very good point. Now that I am nearing the finish line of this marathon and approaching a new chapter (maintenance), reflection is inevitable. Unfortunately, it has less to do with posting what people may or may not want to read and more to do with progression.
